How many different arrangements of any three selected elephants are there?

56 would be correct if you didn’t care what order the elephants were arranged in.
But since arrangement (or order) is important, then there are:
8 possibilities for choosing 1st elephant
7 possibilities for choosing 2nd elephant (once 1st elephant is chosen)
6 possibilities for choosing 3rd elephant (once 1st and 2nd are chosen)
Total # of arrangements: 8 x 7 x 6 = 336

The number of ways of choosing 3 elephants out of 8 is
8 choose 3 = 56
The number of ways of arranging any 3 elephants already chosen is
3! = 6
Total number of arrangements of 3 elephants chosen from 8 is

Is memorial day weekend a busy day for the zoo?
I havnt seen my little brother in like a year so this weekend my moms dropping him off for a weekend with us. Me and my fiancee have a Toledo Zoo membership for the two of us so we figured it would be a great cheap and fun activity to take him to the zoo on Sunday…..but then we remembered its memorial day weekend. My fiancee is insisting it means less people should be there since they will be at parties or other stuff….but im wondering if its not the opposite and going to be packed. Anyone know if the zoo usually sees increased activity over memorial day weekend or not?
It’s definitely more crowded on holidays. People have an extra day off, so they take that opportunity to do things they wouldn’t normally do because they have to work. To add to that, many cities’ zoos have free admission on some holidays. That makes for even bigger crowds. But, Sunday might not be as busy as Saturday or Monday though. It’d definitely be your best bet out of the whole weekend.
